Europe-wide transparency of qualifications

Europe-wide transparency of qualificationsInvestigations throughout Europe have shown that many people in the EU don’t study or learn abroad, because of the lack of recognition and transparency within the EU. This situation is further complicated by the proliferation of qualifications worldwide, the diversity of national qualification systems and educational structures as well as the constant changes that the existing systems are subject to.

In order to reduce these obstacles, the EU has introduced several instruments that are aimed at facilitating the transfer of qualifications and competences for academic or professional purposes. Supported by several European educational institutions, the European Committee of Quality Assurance has created a Europe-wide quality standard. This provides an opportunity for all European educational institutions to have their intitutions and teaching staff but also their educational concept and learning materials certified.
